MATLAB: Further Use (Part 1)

Prerequisites

MATLAB is a software package for numerical computation with high quality graphics facilities. This course follows on from an earlier course entitled "MATLAB: Getting Started". This course has been revised this term due to unforseen circumstances. It includes some topics from the previously run MatLab Further Use Part 1 and Part 2 course.

It is assumed that user has previously attended the course entitled "MATLAB: Getting Started" or is familiar with the topics covered here. Knowledge of matrix algebra and simple calculus (including simple ordinary differential equations (ODEs)) is assumed.

• Arrays and matrices
• Data import and export
• Simple data analysis and statistics
• Simple numerical integration
• Solving ordinary differential equations (ODEs)
• Simple graphics and animation

A mixture of presentations, examples and exercises.

No attempt is made to teach mathematical techniques.

One half-day session.
