Notes
  • The course is suitable for those new to programming. Experienced programmers will find the course too slow.
  • For licensing reasons, the course uses Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) which provides a Visual Basic system under an application such as Microsoft Word, Excel or Access. The interface between Visual Basic and the application is not covered in this course.
  • A follow-up course on the use of VBA with Excel is available. Some of the advanced level teach-yourself MS Office workbooks cover VBA, as do various books published by the O'Reilly company.
  • There is also a set of CDs on Programming in Visual Basic.
